Hey, I’m (Walking/Biking/Driving) Here!: A Downtown Microsimulation Study for Morgantown WV

Please join MASITE and the West Virginia University ITE Student Chapter as we host the MMMPO and Kimley-Horn as speakers at the Holiday Inn (Montani Room) right off West Virginia University's Campus in Morgantown, WV. (0.6 mile walk from PRT Health Sciences Station [Mountain Station NB])

The Morgantown, WV area experiences traffic conflict due to competing demands from passenger and freight vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians, and public transportation. The downtown Morgantown area is especially subject to these conflicts with the presence of West Virginia University and a wide mix of land uses.  This study documents the development of a downtown microsimulation model and its use in determining alternative scenarios to alleviate -conflicts in the area including congestion, safety, and multimodal travel.  Bill Austin, AICP (MMMPO), Colin Frosh (Kimley-Horn), Carmine Parascandola (Kimley-Horn) and Ahmad Abdallah (Kimley-Horn) will be presenting the study.

6:00 PM – Registration and Buffet
7:00 PM – Presentation
